Costa Vista Land

Brad Hogan, VicePresident of Costa Vista Land, first came to Costa Rica in 1987. He started visiting frequently and really fell in love with the people. One of the things Brad enjoys most in Costa Rica are the wonderful and genuine communities. And that is important to him, being a family man, raising three children of his own and coming from a small town in Indiana.

He grew up there through the 1960’s and into the 80’s. Brad attended college locally at Anderson University, a Church of God School with only 2,500 students. He double majored in marketing and management, went on to get an MBA and began his career working for General Motors.

During his tenure at General Motors he began acquiring real estate. Within a few short years, he found himself in his own business owning 72 rental properties. Then he started a finance company with some associates from college. That company evolved over time, sold twice and was finally acquired and turned into a company in which Brad did private placement memorandums.

Although born in Honduras on October 27, 1966, Mr. Carlos Zuniga soon moved to West Miramar, Florida, where he lived most of his life until relocating to Costa Rica years ago.

Carlos has been fortunate to gain several years of experience with different companies in land sales in Costa Rica. Once Mr. Zuniga was given the opportunity to compile his talents and skills with those of Brad Hogan and John Dorsey, a partnership was made and Costa Vista Land was formed.

Private placement memorandums involve people that have extra money and are looking to invest in small companies, whether they are start up or existing. The investors looked for a substantial return. He would raise up to five million dollars for other individuals to do business. Often times the investors, who had plenty of money, would become Brad’s friends, and ask him to go into business together.

They would say, “Brad why don't you do your own private placement? You're an educated guy. You understand this…you see it all…” His response at the time was, “You know… the right deal has not come along. I've not seen it yet.” And he certainly wasn’t going to have a ‘maybe’ business.

In 1993 he acquired a small macadamia farm in the Guanacaste area and seven years later he sold the property and doubled his money. Then, in the year 2000 he invested the money he made from the macadamia farm into parcels of land with city views. In approximately 3 years, he was able to triple his money this time. That is when the land values really started to take off and that’s where we are today. We are still in the beginning stages of the land boom.

Brad lives full time in Costa Rica in the San Pedro area, just outside the city of San Jose. He has seen the land boom. He understands what's happening down there. He can truly offer you something of value. He knows, because he has done it himself.

A well-rounded and inspirational man, Carlos holds a Masters Degree in commercial art from Miami International Fine Arts College. "His hobbies include playing raquetball, swimming and spending time with his family.

Married for the last 13 years, he has two beautiful daughters. Carlos also is a licensed broker, and member of the Real Estate Brokers Chamber of Costa Rica.
